My name is Rachel and I am obsessed with socks. The root of this passion stems from my childhood. Growing up, I was one of five siblings, born and raised by Deaf parents; therefore, job opportunities were limited as was their income. One way my parents dealt with this adversity was to recycle clothing between siblings. Matching and hole less socks became a commodity and my obsession was born.
The challenges my family faced inexplicably bonded the seven of us, which established my appreciation for diversity in others. About eighteen years ago, my brother began a tube sock company (www.skatersocks.com) and I wanted in. My obsession with socks from childhood rekindled the fire and I was instantly drawn in. I loved the idea of creating old school tube socks but I also wanted a brand that would celebrate the uniqueness of people as well as capture a sense of pride. Harvesting the natural power people have within themselves, Pride Socks not only is a throw back to the past but a visual reminder of opportunities that wait in the future.
